Just a quick update… I came up short on my hands / week goal for week #2, primarily because I got called into jury duty on the last day and was unable to play any hands. I would say it was a blessing in disguise, as I was beginning to feel a little bit run down on poker. Doing something completely different was a really nice mental break.

I am at around 40,000 hands for the month, which is more than I averaged / month in 2010. I have managed to keep a positive winrate (BB/100) which is obviously what I want to do, but unfortunately I have ran just awfully at 50/100 so I am down a decent chunk of change.

Here is a sampling of the pain:

It is really annoying to get rivered / coolered endlessly at the highest stakes you play, but whatever. Also, please don’t worry. This isn’t going to become a bad beat blog, I promise! 🙂

I am just going to keep working hard and striving for my process-oriented goals. The results will work themselves out eventually. The nice thing about playing so many hands is that the “long run” comes a lot quicker than if I only put in 30k hands / month.

Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables!
